Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix was a Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister who was ordained by Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a elementary school teacher at Balboa Magnet. Felix was aware that she had an aptitude for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first attempt she made the sport, she finished second for 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school in 2003 and became a part of Adidas a contract as a professional athlete. The following year she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. One year later Felix earned her first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting the world junior record taking 200 metres within 22.18 seconds. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007 she defended this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and was consistently within the top three athletes in her respective events.
